About Alpha Devraj ESS

What does Alpha Devraj ESS do?

Alpha Devraj ESS designs, assembles and delivers battery energy storage systems (BESS) — from C&I cabinets to 20ft containers to grid-scale blocks — and delivers integrated solar, wind and BESS solutions across India. It is a subsidiary of Alpha Devraj Renewable Energy (ADREL).

Where are the systems manufactured?

On a fully automated line in Gujarat, India, with 5 GWh of annual capacity. Every system is factory-acceptance-tested before dispatch.

How does Alpha Devraj leverage its parent company?

ADREL develops, finances and operates a 250 MW wind and solar portfolio. Alpha Devraj ESS systems are engineered by the same team and prove themselves on the group’s own plants — bringing lender-grade project-finance and EPC discipline to every deployment.

Products

What products does Alpha Devraj ESS make?

The ADESS range on one LFP platform: ADESS 250 (250 kWh cabinet), ADESS 1000 (1 MWh), ADESS 5000 (5 MWh 20ft container) and ADESS 6500 (6.5 MWh high-density container). All are liquid-cooled with integrated BMS, fire suppression and remote monitoring.

Which battery chemistry do you use?

LFP (lithium iron phosphate) is our default for most C&I and grid work — safe, long-cycling and cost-effective. For long-duration, high-throughput grid roles we also evaluate vanadium redox flow (VRFB). The recommendation follows the project economics.

Air-cooled or liquid-cooled?

Standard containers are liquid-cooled for tighter thermal control, higher energy density and longer cell life. Smaller C&I cabinets can be air or liquid cooled depending on duty cycle and site conditions.

Economics, tenders & subsidy

What kind of payback period is typical?

It depends on your tariff, demand charges and solar availability, which is why we model it per site rather than quoting a generic figure. Savings come from peak shaving and Time-of-Day arbitrage; our savings calculator and feasibility model show the numbers for your facility.

What does a grid-scale BESS cost in India in 2026?

Turnkey grid-scale BESS is broadly ₹1.5–1.8 crore per MWh installed in 2026, varying with scale, duration and scope. Cell prices have fallen sharply, though discovered tender tariffs found a floor and ticked up through 2026.

Do you handle tenders, DPRs and financial models?

Yes — feasibility, DPR, TEV-ready financial modelling and full bid support are core to what we do, backed by the project-finance discipline of our parent, ADREL. Our resources hub tracks live tenders and explains VGF, SECI and state schemes.

Technology & safety

Why LFP instead of NMC?

LFP trades a little energy density for a lot of safety and cycle life: far more thermally stable, thousands of full cycles, and no cobalt or nickel. For stationary storage, where lifetime cost per cycle matters more than floor space, LFP is the rational default.

How is fire safety handled?

In layers: cell-level monitoring by the BMS, off-gas detection for the earliest warning, integrated suppression inside the enclosure, and physical separation between racks and containers — all engineered and tested at the factory, not bolted on at site.

What happens as the battery ages?

Capacity fades predictably with cycling. Systems are sized with degradation margins and layouts reserve space for augmentation — adding racks or containers in later years so the plant holds its contracted capacity over its life.

Services, warranty & support

Do you only supply, or support the whole project?

Both. Buy FAT-tested systems for your own EPC, or hand us the full lifecycle — engineering, delivery, installation, commissioning and long-term O&M with 24×7 monitoring and augmentation.

What warranty do you offer?

A 5-year standard product warranty on every cabinet and container, extendable per project, with capacity-retention (performance) guarantees available to 10 years. Final terms are set per project and chemistry, in writing.

What standards are systems built to?

Engineered and tested to IEC 62619, IEC 62933 and UL 9540A within an ISO 9001 / 14001 framework. Exact certification status per standard is confirmed per product datasheet.
