How does Alpha Devraj ESS think about sustainability?
Our product is the point: battery storage is what lets clean power run the grid, displacing diesel and coal. We build on cobalt-free LFP chemistry, design systems to last and augment rather than be scrapped early, route end-of-life batteries to authorised recyclers under India’s Battery Waste Management Rules, and treat safety as a design value.
Enabling the clean-energy grid
Storage is what lets solar and wind actually run the grid — holding midday sun for the evening peak, firming variable renewables, and cutting the diesel and coal that would otherwise cover the gap. Every system we ship displaces fossil generation.
Chemistry chosen for safety
We build on LFP (lithium iron phosphate): no cobalt, no nickel, and far greater thermal stability than nickel-based chemistries. Safer cells, a cleaner supply chain, and a longer cycle life that means fewer batteries built per MWh delivered over time.
Built to last, designed to augment
A battery that lasts longer is the most sustainable battery. We size with degradation margins and reserve space for augmentation, so a plant meets its contracted capacity for its full life instead of being scrapped and replaced early.
Responsible end-of-life
Under India’s Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022, spent batteries carry Extended Producer Responsibility. We route end-of-life cells to authorised recyclers and support second-life assessment where a pack still has useful capacity.
Made in India
Assembled on a fully automated line in Gujarat, close to the projects we serve — shortening supply chains, building domestic capability, and creating skilled manufacturing jobs.
Safety as a design value
Layered fire safety — cell monitoring, off-gas detection, integrated suppression and physical separation — engineered and factory-tested, because a storage asset must be safe for the people and the site around it for decades.
