A round-up of the India storage headlines our desk tracked to 4 August 2026 — a quiet day on the tender side, with the movement happening on signed offtake instead. For the running list of live opportunities see our tender tracker; for the framework behind central procurement, our India BESS policy overview.
Contracted
One large hybrid offtake deal, reported by two outlets:
- Evren signs 750 MW PPA for solar, wind and battery storage project in India — ESS News, also reported by pv magazine India · read our brief
Three technologies under one contract is the standard answer to an offtaker that wants power on a schedule: solar and wind generate at different times, and the battery closes what is left. That is the hybrid firming logic now behind most of NTPC’s renewable buying, alongside its NVVN and FDRE tender programmes. The headline does not give the battery’s rating, so the storage duration stays unknown.
Also on the desk
- NTPC Floats O&M Tender for 25 MW Floating Solar Project — Mercom India
An operations and maintenance call for a floating solar plant, with no storage scope attached — noted for completeness rather than as a battery opportunity.
Tender terms and deadlines change by notification — always verify the current bid documents on the issuing organisation’s portal before acting.
